It feels like the New Year 2015 just started yesterday! All of a sudden, January is about to end. Time seems to be in a hurry and the days are flying by.
Don’t let the days just go by – remember to live each day on purpose and make every minute count.
The amazing thing about time is that whether you do something or not, time will pass. You cannot roll over unused time. The choice is yours – you either use it or you lose it.
So what have you been doing with your time? Are you still waiting for the perfect time to do that project, start that program, and make the move…? Well the right time to act is now!
“Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see.” Hebrews 11:1
Today can be the day you decide to take the step. The truth is that you don’t have to wait – you can do it now. Don’t look at the evidence against success – just step out in faith.
“He who observes the wind will not sow, and he who regards the clouds will not reap.” Ecclesiastes 11:4
Begin to agree with God and choose to say only what God says about your life. Do not allow defeating thoughts to take root in your heart. As Henry Ford noted “Whether you think you can, or you think you can’t–you’re right.”
Keep your eyes on the word of God and feed your heart till you believe what it says about you!
That does not necessarily mean that you will feel super confident, but you’re determined to step out in faith expecting God to help you.
“And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.” Romans 8:28
Enemies of progress:
- Staring into the rear view mirror
Regret is a time thief and it will try to keep you stuck on yesterday. Do not spend valuable time today regretting the actions or inactions of yesterday. Learn valuable lessons from your mistakes and move on. Live in the present. Choose to take one step and then another towards your dreams, purpose and heart desires. Yesterday is gone but today is here. Make today count.
“The best time to plant a tree is twenty years ago. The second best time is now.” Chinese Proverb
- Living on tip toes
Constantly yearning for tomorrow and doing nothing today is detrimental to progress. It is the seed that you sow today that will produce your harvest tomorrow. It is your obedience today that will pave way for your promotion tomorrow. It is important to dream and plan, but the most important part of the process is to wake up and begin working towards the dream.
- What if
Fear of the unknown can keep us paralyzed and stuck to the present. Thoughts of “what if that happens”, or “what if that doesn’t happen” makes inactivity attractive. However you need to break out of that mold. Step out and let God take care of you. Do not try to figure it all out or feel safe before you take the step of faith. Embrace the love of God and believe that God will make all things work together for your good!
Be intentional about each day. Refuse to settle and stay the same, instead choose to make each day count and live on purpose!
How do you live on purpose each day? Please share in the comments.
You’ve touched on things that keep us from writing and also things we need to think about as we consider our readers! Thanks. I’ll highlight this on the Christian Poets & Writers blog – http://www.christianpoetsandwriters.com.
Thank you Mary!
To stay true to our calling, we need to be intentional about each day.
Lord teach us to number our days, that we may gain a heart of wisdom. Psalm 90:12
