Love
What is the first thought that comes to your mind when you hear the word ‘love’? Do you have a warm fuzzy feeling or think of one of your favorite things?
The term love is commonly used to describe strong positive feelings. However love means so much more. God is love!
“Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love.”
1 John 4:8
The proof that we know God is that we love
Love is the language of life. Love is a language that crosses boundaries and needs no interpretation. Love is what the world is waiting for.
Words are weak without love.
Talent is impressive, charisma is applauded but the only true witness that we have is the love of God. Only the things that are done out of love will stand.
“If I [can] speak in the tongues of men and [even] of angels, but have not love (that reasoning, intentional, spiritual devotion such as is inspired by God’s love for and in us), I am only a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal.”1 Cor 13:1
It is very interesting that love is referred to as “that reasoning, intentional, spiritual devotion such as is inspired by God’s love for and in us”
That makes things crystal clear that love is not just a response, it is an action that can be carried out deliberately. Love is a spiritual devotion and you cannot love without God’s love. As God pours His love into our lives, we are inspired by His love, and then we turn around and love the world with the love of God that has been shed abroad in our hearts.
You cannot love if you do not accept God’s love for you
God loves you and wants the very best for you.
God has always loved you – even when you didn’t know or simply didn’t care.
God will continue to love you forever because you are His treasured child.
Love is the more excellent way to live. Let us all embark on a love project this week. Let us reach out in sincere love. Go out of your way this week to be a blessing to somebody else. Let your only agenda be to be a blessing.
Do not be afraid of being vulnerable by reaching out in love. Fear and love are not compatible.
There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves torment. But he who fears has not been made perfect in love.” 1 John 4:16-18
We are the ones who can show the world the love of God. The love of God brings hearts to repentance.
It is time to stop judging and start loving.
There are so many things we can do to show love. Reach out to somebody in love. Be the solution to someone’s problem. Pray for someone who has a need, be the solution to someone’s need, etc.
Love is not abstract; love is about reaching out to serve others
We display the clearest picture of God when we love each other.
“No one has ever seen God; but if we love one another, God lives in us and his love is made complete in us.”
1 John 4:12
As you go about your business this week, make love your great quest. Seek for ways to show love. The world needs more love. Be a love distribution center everywhere you go this week.
Have a love-filled week.
I identify so much with this article, and for some reasons, I can’t stop admiring those nice red roses and the cute red heart-shaped love that seems to emanate from them….it highlights how beautiful our lives and others are when we share that precious gift of love.
Did I see “Photo credit-Layi Ojo ” with the roses, its really a picture stating a thousand words!
