Staring at my computer, I find myself smiling at the thought of some of my favorite people… they are so easy to love and time spent together is rewarding. Some other people have quite the opposite effect, it takes effort to love them and it’s much easier to keep a safe distance.
However, God doesn’t sort through people to lavish His love, He gave His best for all men and took a chance that we would reciprocate His love.
God has always loved you – even when you didn’t know or didn’t care.
You are very special to God. He loves you so much that He has your name engraved on the palm of His hand. Let the knowledge of the love of God be the source of your security in life.
Feelings have nothing to do with the love of God. We run into problems when we place too much emphasis on our emotions:
We were not created to live by feelings; we were created to live by faith.
Faith comes by hearing the Word of God and it is the shield that protects us from every attack of the enemy. “Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.” Ephesians 6:16
When you feel insecure, declare loudly: “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” (Philippians 4:13)
When guilt rears its ugly head, declare: “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!” 2 Cor. 5:17
Tell your fears that, “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.” (Mathew 19:26)
When you feel confident, let the love of Jesus be your strength
When you feel inadequate, let the love of Jesus be your validation
Jesus is the greatest expression of God’s love.
Because Jesus died in our place, we have access to the abundant life. “What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things?” Romans 8:31-32
Let nothing stop you from embracing the love of God.
“For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Romans 8:38-39
In everything you do this week, stay conscious of the love of God.
