Living the good life begins with knowing who you are.
When I read that we are God’s masterpiece, my brain interprets it as something really beautiful and I quickly continue reading. Meditating on the true meaning and implication of that fact is staggering!
A masterpiece is a work of genius which becomes a stunning success. Is that really how God looks at me? It’s easier for me to conceptualize on good days and a stretch of my imagination on challenging days. However, the truth is that feelings and current circumstances do not count – we are God’s masterpiece!
When I stare at the beautiful, calming waters of the sea and the raging waves of the ocean, I marvel at the majesty of God and the awesomeness of His creation. Watching National Geographic and Animal Planet, I am intrigued by the complex world of animals and in awe of the God who created such perfection.
However, we are the crown of His creation! He created so many things that are beautiful, exquisite and amazing but we are His masterpiece – His best work, His show piece! Consider the implications of that truth:
You are God’s best work
If God regards you as His best work, you should not look at yourself as anything less. You are better than the 7 wonders of the world. You are the wonder of the world.
Your feeling is not an indicator of your worth
God placed such a high value on your life that He gave everything He had to secure your future. He was made poor so that you might be rich; He suffered so that you may have abundant life. All things are yours – nothing can be withheld from you.
“For we are God’s [own] handiwork (His workmanship), recreated in Christ Jesus, [born anew] that we may do those good works which God predestined (planned beforehand) for us [taking paths which He prepared ahead of time], that we should walk in them [living the good life which He prearranged and made ready for us to live].” Ephesians 2:10 AMP
There is a good life prearranged for you to live.
You can make every day of your life a masterpiece by staying connected to God and following His leading in everything. God wants you to enjoy life, and have it in abundance -to the full, till it overflows!
You do not have to desire to have another person’s life. Your path is unique and your assignment is specific. Be confident and walk in the glory of the life God has given you. Do not settle for anything less than the best of God in your life. When you go through challenges, stay in peace, cast every care on Jesus and do not lose your joy. God will always make all things work together for your good.
You are on earth to display a unique flavor of God.
Enjoy every day of this week – Live the good life
