IS IT REALLY A NEW YEAR?

I woke up early today – it’s the 1^st of January 2014!  I was excited to look outside and behold the majesty of the New Year! I couldn’t wait to take a walk to see the beauty of 2014 and to enjoy the new normal! I was determined to embrace life and love each minute of the New Year.

So I bounced out of bed with glee and a huge smile on my face. I walked into the living room and saw the sunlight streaming in through the curtains. I knew it! It would be a beautiful day! It’s a new year -Everything is going to be simply perfect.

I opened the window and amazingly everything outside looked normal… I heard the birds chirping as usual, and people were going about their daily business (their magic Christmas smiles were gone!). Life was back to business as usual.

Why isn’t something different – it’s a new year!

I closed the curtain in surprise and turned to the TV – surely there would be special programming and forecasts of the amazing year 2014. To my shock, they were back to regular programming! The scheduled programs were on and the soothing background music and greetings had been discontinued!

What is going on here? Just yesterday, there was an elaborate countdown to this awesome year! The minutes were so precious and the excitement mounted as the year approached! The fireworks were amazing, the prayers were divine, and the excitement was palpable! How did all that become….normal?

Then it dawned on me – I was being offered the ordinary!

I could believe that today is just another day or I could choose to activate the power of a new beginning!

I chose the new beginning.

Today can be the first day of the best year ever. Today can be the beginning of whatever you want it to be. It’s a new day, and even though things look normal – all things are new! God is doing a new thing!

“For I am about to do something new. See, I have already begun! Do you not see it? I will make a pathway through the wilderness. I will create rivers in the dry wasteland.”  Isaiah 43:19

The New Year is about the God that makes all things new!

2014 can be the beginning of your best years! Embrace what God says about you and step out in faith. Yesterday is over! There will be new opportunities, new victories and new grace for you this year.

Make a quality decision that this year will be the turning point in your life.

Refuse to settle for business as usual. You can trust God to help you do all you have always wanted to do this year.

The power of the Holy Spirit is available to make this year exceptional for you. Let God guide you into the best days of your life. Let Him perfect all that concerns you this year. Give your worries, cares, fears, hopes and dreams to God.

Let God be your burden bearer this year

2014 has the potential to be your best year ever, but you cannot rely on yourself or the old methods. Let God order your steps this year.

Yield the controls to God and see what a God-year looks like

“The LORD directs the steps of the godly. He delights in every detail of their lives.” Psalm 37:23

God doesn’t want you to have the same kind of year! He wants you to have a victorious year! A year filled with all good things that your heart desires! He wants to establish your steps and guide you in everything!

Embrace the grace of God for an unprecedented 2014.
