Let your life overflow to those around you
Do not keep God’s blessing to yourself. Be the god on the scene. Let somebody thank God for you.
Somebody needs what you have.
There is a reason for your blessing. Don’t waste your opportunities and privileges. Use everything you are to the glory of God. Do not let blessings stagnate in your life. Become a channel of God’s blessing to the world. Let it flow.
Esther was a lovely and beautiful girl who was familiar with loss and sorrow. Her father and mother died when she was very young. She lived with her cousin Mordecai, and he became her entire world. Esther grew up to become a very beautiful woman. She was so beautiful that she won the beauty pageant to become the queen! The orphan Esther became the Queen of the powerful King Ahasuerus!
Esther’s mourning had turned into dancing! Her low-class existence had become royalty. She was grateful that finally she could stand on her own without depending on anyone for help. Life was beautiful and it was her turn to sit back and enjoy the good life!
A high ranking officer in the kingdom plotted against all Esther’s people and planned to eradicate them. The verdict was passed and destruction was looming. Mordecai reached out to Esther for help. He knew she could use her privileges as Queen to favor her people and prevent them from destruction.
Mordecai was quick to remind Esther that God might have orchestrated her royalty to be the source of deliverance for her people. He challenged her saying:
“For if you remain completely silent at this time, relief and deliverance will arise for the Jews from another place, but you and your father’s house will perish. Yet who knows whether you have come to the kingdom for such a time as this?” Esther 4:14
Even though Esther was the Queen, it was not easy for her to approach the King. She decided to fast and pray to God for favor. Then she stepped out approached the King. With the wisdom of God, she pleaded a case for her people; and the day that was meant to be their day of destruction became the day of jubilation.
“And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them.” Romans 8:28
Can God trust you to be a channel of blessing? God is calling His army to duty. You are in that exact location for a reason. Use all that you are for God. Make someone’s journey easier.
Be the solution to someone’s problem
“By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.” John 13:35
Examine your life: What advantages do you have? What privileges have you enjoyed? What influences do you have? What opportunities have you had? “…It may very well be that you have it all for such a time as this!
Look around you – Who can you help? Who can you love? Whose life can you improve?
You are blessed to be a blessing. Make someone’s life better this week. Choose not to be completely silent at this time. Who knows, perhaps you have been blessed with those opportunities for such a time as this.
It was not that Esther didn’t have her “small” challenges (Mordecai, who she grew up with wasn’t her father, remember) but she saw the Big picture and allowed God to make her “the god of the scene”. Little wonder then that now, of all the exiled young Hebrew women, Esther’s name stands tall.
